youth leadership council
The Montgomery County Youth Leadership Council, MCYLC, is an alliance of influential and exceptional high school student leaders that strive to be a catalyst for change in their community. The council works to build leadership capacity at a community-level by providing prevention skills training and resources. MCYLC ambassadors will receive training on effective prevention strategies from subject matter experts that represent business, healthcare, non-profit, and government sectors.
Students interested in becoming a MCYLC ambassador will commit to a lifestyle free of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and violence. Ambassadors will meet monthly and develop a service learning project to implement in their school or community with the assistance of the community leaders.
