Coalitions Rising: Policy and Practices for Better Prevention
This two-day conference celebrates the efforts of coalitions as they find solutions and voices to address the public health challenges facing us today. A mix of policy review, investigative panel conversations, educational workshops and advocacy, Coalitions Rising will bring community members and leaders into a space for problem solving. Our hypotheses is this: grassroots efforts can change everything.
Who Should Attend?
This event is appropriate for coalition leaders and all sectors of your coalition. Strategies and ideas will be applicable to urban, suburban and rural coalition communities.This two day event is open to both Ohio and non-Ohio based coalitions. It will focus primarily on efforts to address substance misuse prevention. Other notable topics include examples of volunteer-driven postvention efforts and multi-county media collaboration. This event is not recommended for youth leaders to attend.
Participants will be exposed to ideas that specifically engage the following sectors and/or strategies :
Enforcement and regulatory strategies
Local health and service provider partnerships
Recovery partnerships and postvention efforts
Media advocacy and the opiate crisis
Changes in the alcohol landscape
